Hola familia e amigos!
Tudo bem? Tudo bem comigo!
This past week has been a little different then other weeks mainly because it has been one of my harder weeks out here so far. It has been hard at times when you teach people and then they become no longer interested or when you want people to progress but then things get in the way etc. It's all part of the experience I guess. But this week has still been good. I experienced my first tornado warning so that was kind of cool! Sirens went on and everything so it was pretty cool. It was humid, 70 or so degrees and grey and black clouds hovering over soo yeah, kinda scary but it wasn't a big tornado and it went an hour north of us so we were fine. We went to tract (knock door to door) later on in the afternoon when the skies cleared up and then within 30 seconds it was pouring rain, thick rain drops, and we were soaked! we had to run to someones garage overhang (a lot or people dont have garages, basically take off your garage door and wall that separates it from the outside and that's what they have. So we stood under there for 15 or minutes waiting for it to pass then carried on with what we were doing. Pretty cool haha
This week in church we broke 100 in attendance for the first time in a long time! Mainly because it was a primary program (where the little kids 11 and under all sing and say stuff up in front) so there were more family friends there but they said it was almost 130! That was sweet so my companion and I were excited. oh ya! So last week I said we got a third companion who is going to the same mission in Brazil that I am, he got transferred to another area so it is back to me and my companion. Kind of sad because all 3 of us were getting along great and my and the elder who left could speak in Portuguese when we wanted to so it helped a lot.
Let's see..qu mais..oh, we taught this guy who came up to us that one day saying he wanted to be baptized, so we went to go teach him and after 3 visits we found out he is clinically crazy and in trouble with Homeland security soo yeah. it was interesting hearing him go off on tangents like no other. Tangents about the Bible and buried treasure, then about the children's fantasy book (which actually is hecka good, not gonna lie, but he is still a little messed in the head haha), then about the world ending, then about our government (which that was the wrong button to push hahaha he went off for 30 min about who knows what), but he never really kept any of our commitments so we don't see him as often anymore. He was an interesting guy..I'll say that haha
I don't have many stories for this week but I got to play b-ball on Saturday night because they are starting up ward basketball and want us to bring investigators and other members. Then we get to play b-ball again today so I am stoked! I really want to play some soccer but no one here plays except for the Panamanian family we are still teaching which is still going great! They are doing well and the boys love us coming over and talking about the Book of Mormon and stuff so it is my favorite to go over and see them.
I think this week I have been starting to see how being out here can really try your faith as a missionary, and He can stretch you. You start breaking down and seeing what weaknesses you have and that is one of the ways that trials make us stronger, it is not because we are bad people, but because He knows how strong we are and what potential we hold. He wants to see us exercise that faith; if it's waiting for something, changing an aspect in our life for the better for ourselves and others around us, or perhaps we are unsure of where to go next. He knows we can do it and we need to rely on Him for help. With God, all things are possible, right? Then let's use Him and you will see what comes about. I think the best ways to find answers is to ask, pretty simple and self explanatory right? Then ask. It is simple...just ask Him and you will be amazed at what you find and how much more you can do and get through.
Eu nao tenho mais tempo e eu espera voces estao bem. Eu sei que esta igreja e verdadeiro e amo esta trabalha. Oh yeah, we get to have 3 or 4 Thanksgivings this week so it'll be sweet! One guy in the ward is making a fried Turkey for us so I am probably going to gain 20 pounds alone this Thursday! And hit a massive food coma tambem!
I attached pictures of going to the Georgia state line and then that one day when it was raining after the Tornado warnings.
I'm also already famous in Brazil with the Veja magazine, which I told you all about, equivalent to TIME magazine here, well I found the article...it's in Portuguese haha but if you look closely at the picture (click on it to make it a little bigger) of the classroom with a bunch of missionaries in there, I am 3rd from the left underneath the Brazil flag. Sou ja famoso!
