Week 7

Ola todo mundo! Tempo voa quando voce esta tendo diversao! sim? Eu acho que sim. E porque MLB Playoffs tambem haha Mas...
The weather has taken a turn though, it has rained 3 or 4 times and the temperature has dropped quite a bit. Last Tuesday we were outside enjoying the sun playing frisbee and then Wednesday and Thursday it rained and even snowed on the top of the mountains here, so that was pretty cool to see. The clouds would be so low you couldn't see the top third of the mountains and everything was dark and cloudy. Someone said it looked like how in Harry Potter everytime the Dementors (dark hooded figures) come this is how the sky looks. No dementors came but it was hecka funny! It hasn't rained the last 2 or 3 days so I was able to play futebol so that was hecka fun. This one guy always calls me Lionel Messi (one of the world's best professional soccer players right now) whenever he sees me or when I play haha it's pretty funny.

Maybe if the A's still had this dude they'd be cool enough to make the playoffs.
MLB Playoffs: so the Philadelhpia Philles and Yankees are out! Dude, this year's playoffs are going to be interesting and from what I have heard they are. Cardinals and the Brewers, Rangers and the Tigers, that'll be cool. Who do you think will win? (if you are a baseball fan haha)
So during our teaching lesson yesterday we had a funny esxperience. So sometimes when we don't know a word to say in Portuguese we try to explain it differently with words we do know, or we guess or make up a word that soudns similar haha Like one time I needed to say "to seperate" so I said "seperar" which actrually is correct! So that was sweet but yesterday my companion neede to find the worrd for "to replace" and so he said "replace?" but more pronounced like "heplahcee", and I might have laughed haha and so our investigator/teacher started laughing a bit tambem. So we tried to move on but all three of us were laughing soo hard, my teacher was crying because he was laughing so hard hahahaha so finally he said "elderes, sai aqui!" (Elders, leave here! )while he is laughing of course)) so we went out into the hall to get a breather and he was in the classroom still laughing hahaha then we went back in a couple misutes later and continued but at times we would have to try really hard not to laugh haha it was hecka funny and a cool experience. We went back and told the rest of the guys in our district and they thought it was hilarious to and the teacher came back in and looked at us then started laughing a little bit too. It was somethign to highlight the day.

So this Tuesday's devotional we had former NFL tight end Chad Lewis speak and he gave a great talk. He mainly talked about his mission (he went to Hong Kon I believe) he said to enjoy it, let your light shine, and let the Lord get rid and carry our burdens. Man, I thought that was really cool. He said that we are here are earth but we DON'T have to do everything ourselves. God loves us so he will help us. Who else would be better to ask but Him himself? I just really liked that because it can relate to anyone and everyone, no matter who you are. You have trouble with work, or your kids, or school, or any other problems you may have, He is the one to ask. I can definately see, since being here for about 7 weeks, how He has helped me. I would have never guessed I would have known this much Portuguese or this much about the Book of Mormon or Bible. It is amazing what you can do with God's help, it really is. Even though i am learning so much and ahving a great time here, there is no doubt it is hard, ya of course it is, but look at the progress I have made. It has been such a blessing but at the same time I do feel overwhelmed, I want to learn more and it is hard to teach in Portuguese, so I feel like I can't quite say what I want to say. It's gets frustrating, it does haha Yesturday was one of those days were I just wasn't "in the zone" so to speak. I couldn't understand as much as I normally do and I couldn't say things that I want to say, so it was kind of annoying actually haha but I turn to Heavenly Father, and who else could help with these things, or any other things you have. God can do anything so why not help us all with our problems. He can. Life is soo much better and happier when you utilize His help and I know this is true.
Eu espero voces estao bem e eu nao acreditou que eu somente tenho mais dois semanas aqui! Eu estou muito animado sair e ir fora e ensinar. Eu espero voces estao bem. Tchau!
