Week 4

Hola everyone!

Week 4: done-zo.This week started off well with the weekly Tuesday night devotional that we had. They decided since I am at the MTC they should treat me, so they brought in M. Russell Ballard from the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles (he's another leader in our church who is very important) and talk to us. What an awesome guy, he said that if we face something hard then to push through it (I'm sensing a common theme with these Apostles) and his wife spoke on how lucky we are to be missionaries and to have families that can be together forever and etc.
Other then the devotional I have had a pretty good week. Still playing futebol, of course (I was juggling trying to break my record and was at 556 when they called us in for the end of gym so I had to stop, some guys here think I should try to break the MTC record which is 2,000something sooo yeahh I don't know about that haha) and I'm still working hard on the language, it's getting better but our district is kind of behind so we are trying to get better. Sometimes I wish i was already fluent but I still gotta be patient.

When meu companheiro and I taught our "pesquisador (investigator)" we have been doing better at speaking to him about the importance of the Book of Mormon, etc. We asked him if he wanted to come to church and bring his family and he said he would love that, then he threw a curveball at me and asked "where is your church?" me: "uhh.....where? uhmmm...(we are in Provo, Utah, how do you not see a church nearby?? haha) so this is what I said "nao esta rua ('not this road' pointing to the closest road), mas esta rua ('but this road' pointing to the crossing road)" what an idiot huh? then he asked: "so where on the road?" I was like for real?! uhhh "next to the temple..". He said ok. That was literally the hardest part of the whole conversation was giving directions hahaha but we also invited him to be baptized and he said he really wants to but he will ask his wife and we said that is ok, sounds good.
Let's see what else..oh yeah, I finished the Book of Mormon. Our Branch President asked us to read it (in English) while we were here in the MTC. I got soo much out of it I can't believe how fast I read it. I started week one and it took me almost 4 weeks. I am going to read it again i mean, why not right? It's a great book and if you haven't read it well, I highly recommend reading it, it is beyond amazing.
Some guys on our floor left for Mozambeke, Africa (Portuguese speaking as well) and they were soo excited to get out to teach. I can't wait to get out but I still got soo much to learn.

I hope everyone is doing well. Oh ya, one of our teachers has us predict the BYU football game scores every friday before the game and the past two weeks I picked them to lose and what do ya know, they lost haha (I'm sorry for all your die hard BYU fans out there, hopefully they do start winning) I just thought it was funny how me and this other guy in my district have picked BYU to lose and everyone had them winning. Our teacher gets pretty mad when they lose, it's kind of funny when he is ranting on about the game in Portuguese and he gets all mad and starts speaking really fast and so we have no clue what the heck is saying haha He said after the first game that they have "impecable defense" so when they lost and before he came into the classroom we put that quote and his name on the whiteboard and he came in and laughed and then started ranting about the game. It was pretty funny.
So far so good, I ain't digging this dry weather but maybe that is why I am going to Brazil, who knows, thank you all for your support and love. Tchau!
Dad, you still havent sent me any Top 25 NCAA Football rankings..I'm waaiittingg! haha Garrison and Sam, how are the A's doing? (still choking?)
